WHAT IS REIKI?
For information regarding pricing and scheduling scroll to the bottom of this page.Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese phrase that roughly translates to: Universal Life Force Energy. It is an ancient and powerful healing modality that uses the Reiki practitioner as a channel for “healing energy”. The exact origins of Reiki are unclear, but the recognized founder is Mikao Usui. The modality was brought to the United States just before WWII through one of Usui’s students, a woman named Hawayao Takata.
Reiki is administered through the laying on of hands. It is not massage, though is used by many massage therapists. One does not, however, need to be a massage therapist to learn and practice Reiki. Reiki differs from other energy healing modalities in that Reiki is channeled through the practitioner from the Universe to help heal the client; as opposed to the practitioner using his/her own energy. Such modalities can be effective but often leave the practitioner feeling weak and/or diminished.
In a Reiki session the client lies on a massage table and is only required to breath deeply and relax. The Reiki practitioner may lay their hands directly on the client or hold their hands a few inches above the client's body. Reiki does not require the removal of clothing. You should question any Reiki practitioner that asks you to do so.
HOW DOES REIKI WORK?
Reiki is very similar in philosophy to Acupuncture and Acupressure. All living beings are connected through an invisible energy called ki, chi or prana (among other names depending on the language/culture). This energy force animates us and impacts our over all health and well being. In Acupuncture and Acupressure this energy travels through Meridians in our bodies. In Reiki we refer to the Chakra System as well. The Chakra System works with/is connected to the Meridian System, but is centrally located within the body as opposed to running up either side as with the Meridians. Through our everyday life as well as through physical, mental, emotional or spiritual trauma, blocks can occur in the Chakra System. When this happens illness, discomfort or dis-ease manifests. Reiki clears and balances the Chakras allowing the body to come back into alignment and utilize its own innate healing abilities.
Reiki enters the practitioner through the Crown Chakra (top of the head) and exits into the client through the practitioners hands and in some cases feet as well. As it helps to energize and heal the client it also energizes and heals the practitioner!

WHAT IS REIKI GOOD FOR?
Since Reiki is such a gentle healing modality, it is appropriate for all people (and pets too!) regardless of age, gender, physical condition or any other reason you can think of. Reiki helps the client to relax deeply and promotes innate healing for all and any ailments, whether they be physical, mental, psychological or spiritual. Rev. Larissa is a certified Reiki Master/Teacher schooled
in the traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki method. She received her Reiki I & II Attunements from Ashanna Solaris and her Reiki III & Teacher Attunements from Brenda Siemering. There are
different levels of Reiki certification including, but not only: Reiki
I, Reiki II,
Reiki III & Reiki Teacher. (Attunement
refers to the initiation into the Reiki practice.) As a Reiki Teacher, Larissa is able to perform Reiki sessions both in
person and remotely, where the client does not have to be present and is able to train and certify Reiki practitioners.

LARISSA OFFERS TWO LENGTHS OF REIKI SESSIONS: FULL SESSIONS AND HALF SESSIONS. All first appointment are full length.
FULL LENGTH SESSIONS ARE A MINIMUM OF ONE HOUR IN LENGTH AND A MAXIMUM OF AN HOUR AND A HALF. THIS TIME INCLUDES THE INITIAL EVALUATION, REIKI AND CLOSING CONSULTATION. THIS SERVICE MAY BE PERFORMED REMOTELY, WITHOUT THE CLIENT PHYSICALLY PRESENT.

IN PERSON SESSION - $65
REMOTE SESSION - $55
HALF SESSIONS ARE A MINIMUM OF A HALF HOUR AND A MAXIMUM OF 45 MINUTES AND ARE BEST SUITED FOR SPECIFIC ISSUES AND AS A FOLLOW UP TO THE INITIAL SESSION. THIS SERVICE MAY BE PERFORMED REMOTELY, WITHOUT THE CLIENT PHYSICALLY PRESENT.
